The hot Texas weather wasn't enough to slow down the Rangers as they took to the Boswell turf on Saturday. Each team performed well, with varsity boys placing 3rd and varsity girls coming in 4th overall, and both JV teams securing a similar 4th place finish. Xavier Mendez once again took first, running a personal best of 16:05.13 in the Boys 5000 meter and bringing his number of top placements to four this season. Freshman Martin Lara wasn't far behind, finishing 12th with personal best of 17:45.96, and Elijah Morten secured 19th, posting 18:28.76.
The girls top finishers included Katelynn Moore with a time of 21:22.71 in 13th, Gabby Ortiz coming in at 22:57.07 in 21st, and Mia Ramirez finishing with a 23:02.39 in 22nd.
JV boys were led by Indrek Janka and Parker Cockrell, posting two-mile times of 12:40.16 and 13:04.99 and placing 5th and 11th respectively, and the JV girls were led by Isabella Alvarez at 17:30.03 and Fatima Cedillo at 17:46.11.
This Friday, Sept. 27th, the Rangers head to Granbury to race the disc golf course and put up more impressive numbers.
