In the Boswell Invitational on Wednesday, Mar. 6, both the Lady Rangers varsity and JV teams earned first place overall. Assata Howard won the silver medal in the Long Jump, Madison Denton clinched second in the Discus, and Marissa Ramirez earned the gold medal in the 100m Hurdles. The 4x100m Relay (Jones, Howard, Davis, and Simpson) placed third while the 4x200m Relay (Davis, Simpson, Howard, Jones) secured second. Mikalette Thompson earned the bronze medal in the 200m and the gold in the 400m, with Nia Hoyle taking silver and Madison Gilmore earning bronze in the 400m. Lacie Rusk rounded off the medal haul with a bronze in the 800m.
The varsity boys team placed third overall. Standout performances included Matthias Leach earning gold in the Triple Jump and second in the High Jump. Omari Johnson secured fifth in the Long Jump and Nicholas Hartnett brought home a gold medal in the Discus. Elijah Norwood claimed gold in the 3200m and Xavier Mendez earned the bronze in the same event. Jaxon Holmes excelled in the 300 Hurdles bringing home a gold medal.
The next meet is Chisholm Trail's home event on Mar. 22 at Ranger Stadium.
