Chisholm Trail made waves at the 3-6A District Championships on Jan. 27 at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center. The boys 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle, and 400 Freestyle Relays all secured spots for Regionals. Notably, the 200 relays posted their best times of the year, while the 400 relay, featuring an alternate, competed well.
On the girls side, qualifications for Regionals were earned in the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay. The girls medley relay dropped seven seconds, securing a fourth place finish. Sophomores Lydia Morris and Sara Hinojo both shaved nearly two seconds off their 50 Freestyle times. Senior Sofia Rodriguez secured sixth place in the 50 Freestyle and punched her ticket to Regionals. Jadyn Irvin qualified for Regionals in two events, the 100 Freestyle and clinched second place in the 100 Backstroke, improving her backstroke time by four seconds to edge out the third place finisher. Junior Elia Dupree earned a spot in Regionals with a fifth place finish in the 100 Breaststroke.
Athletes will compete at the Regional Championships on Feb 9-10 in Midland. Good luck Rangers!
