The Ranger track and field team had 15 athletes compete in the Area meet on April 12-13 at Keller High School. The varsity boys and girls teams both finished in ninth place overall. The Rangers had two regional champions; Dadrian Calhoun in the triple jump and Madison Watkins in the long jump. Calhoun also took second in the long jump and sixth place in the 200m. Hayden Norwich placed second in shotput and fifth in discus. Elliot Gonzalez earned seventh in the 1600m and Gabriel Rosas was sixth in the 3200m. The girls 4x400m relay consisting of Lacie Rusk, Mikalette Thompson, Madison Gilmore and Nia Hoyle earned a fourth place finish. Watkins set a school record in the high jump and earned third place. Hoyle had a PR in the 400m and placed sixth. The 4x100m (Tyra Davis, Anija Simpson, Sydney Allen, Hoyle) and 4x200m relays (Allen, Thompson, Halen Jones, Simpson) both finished in sixth place.
Seven athletes advance to compete in the Regional track and field meet held at UTA Maverick Activities Center on April 28-29.
