Chisholm Trail hosted the District Championships on March 30-31. The boys team finished in second place after two days posting a school record combined score of 325.0. Senior Paul Herrera came away as the District Champion on Floor and Vault, while Senior Zak Travis was the District Champion on Pommel Horse. Herrera led the Rangers with a second place finish in the All-Around. His other event finishes included second place on Rings, third on High Bar and sixth on Pommel Horse. Travis was third in the All-Around with event finishes of third on Parallel Bars and fiftth on High Bar. Senior Zachary Phillips was second on Parallel Bars and fourth on Pommel Horse. Sophomore Marshall Osman finished fifth in the All-Around.
The girls team finished third out of seven schools. Senior Kylie Miertschin finished tied for fifth on Vault, 10th on Uneven Bars, third on Beam, eighth on Floor and third in the All-Around competition. Senior Isabella Peressim tied for eighth on Vault and Beam, ninth on Floor and seventh in the All-Around competition. Junior Gabby Espinosa placed eighth in the All-Around competition.
Both teams will compete at the Regional Championships on April 11-12 at Trinity High School.
