The Chisholm Trail gymnastics teams competed in the annual Railroad Rumble at Saginaw High School on Wednesday, Feb. 8. The boys team posted a strong second place finish six points behind Saginaw. Senior Paul Herrera led the Rangers, setting new school scoring records on Floor (first - 9.5), Vault (first - 9.6), and All-Around (second - 52.5). Herrera also finished third on High Bar, fifth on Rings, and sixth on Parallel Bars. Senior Zachary Phillips placed third in the All-Around with event finishes of second on Rings, second on Parallel Bars, fourth on Pommel Horse, fifth on Vault, and sixth on Floor. Senior Zak Travis finished fourth in All-Around with event finishes of fourth on Pommel Horse, fifth on Rings, sixth on Vault, and sixth on Parallel Bars.
The girls team placed third overall. Kylie Miertschin took first on the Floor event. She earned seventh in the All-Around placing sixth on Balance Beam, eighth on Uneven Bars, and 10th on the Vault. Isabella Peressim placed 10th in the All-Around.
Chisholm Trail will compete at the Mark Williams Invitational on Feb. 23 at the FEW Gymnastics Center in Bedford.
