Chisholm Trail cross country competed in the District 3-6A Championships at the Athletic Performance Ranch on Friday, Oct. 14. The varsity boys placed second and punched their ticket to the Regional Championships as a team qualifier. L.D. Bell won the division with 48 points followed by Chisholm Trail with 55 points. Phillip Lasley was the District Individual champion with a time of 16:35. Elliot Gonzalez took fifth place with 17:28 and Gabe Rosas came in eighth at 17:52 to give the Rangers three boys in the top eight. Alejandro Mendoza finished 20th with 18:52 and Xavier Mendez was right behind him in 21st with a time of 18:53.
The Lady Rangers finished in sixth place overall as a team. Teah Peeni earned ninth with a time of 21:25. This is Peeni's third year qualifying for regionals. Tatiana Mendez was 18th with a time of 22:38 and Gabby Moreno was 35th at 24:11.
The boy's team and Peeni will compete in the Regional Championships in Lubbock on Monday, Oct. 24. Good luck Rangers!
