Chisholm Trail varsity and junior varsity cross country teams competed in the annual Fossil Ridge Run of the Panther on Friday, Sept. 2. The varsity boys placed fifth out of 11 teams. Elliot Gonzalez was the top runner for the team placing ninth with a 17:30. Phillip Lasley was 15th with a 17:53 and Elijah Norwood set a PR with an 18:14 for 22nd place. Alejandro Mendoza was 36th with 18:53 and Xavier Mendez ran a 19:02. Teah Peeni was seventh in the varsity girls division with 21:29.
The JV girls were third out of 12 teams. Gabby Ortiz earned seventh place with a 24:14. Bree Brimmer took 14th with a 24:41 and Diana Lasley was 21st with a 25:13. The JV boys were 10th as a team. Top runners included Angel Hernandez in 9th place with a 20:03. Kyle Rich was 27th with a 21:03 and Elijah Milton placed 74th with a 22:35.
The Rangers will compete at the Paschal Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Athletic Performance Ranch.
